It's been some time since my last post. Mainly because life changing events have occurred. Mike got a great job in Orlando so we are relocating. Things have been crazy! Below is a picture of Max saying goodbye to his 2 favorite teachers at Parkridge. He really loves Ms. V and Ms. Yeni and we can't thank them enough for all the love and knowledge they've provided to our little man.
Welcome to the story of our first baby!
Welcome to the story of our family.

The end of maternity leave...
Has sadly arrived. I'm not ready to go back. How can I part with my little one? I'm not sure how I'm going to handle dropping Kendall off on Monday but I decided to make the best out of today. I kept Max home from school so that I could spend my last day if maternity leave with both kids. We had a fun afternoon at the park. Then headed home for some cuddle time :)

Trying to be a baby
Max is doing wonderful with Kendall. He loves helping with her, singing to her, and just overall entertaining her. It's beautiful to watch; however, there are some times when he gets a little jealous which results in him doing something a "baby would do." This time that meant he was trying to fit into Kendall's carseat. I think he might be a little too big...

Home Depot Workshop
One of the teachers at Max's school, Ms. Yeni, let us in on a little tip...the first Saturday of every month there is a kids workshop at Home Depot. So today we joined her for the construction of a Father's Day gift.
Max and I (mostly I) made a lawn mower pencil holder for Daddy. Max used a really hammer and nails for the first time today. It was so much fun.

A visit from Ga-Ga
Ga-Ga arrived for a quick weekend visit. It didn't take long for the fun to begin.
Kendall immediately snuggled up for a quick snooze. When Max got home from school he and Ga Ga practiced his new bike which he got for successfully completely potty training!

Happy Easter
In the midst of "baby brain" I messed up the date for the Easter egg hunt at Max's school. We arrived ready to search for the eggs only to find that no one else was there. I was totally bummed.
Luckily, Max has an awesome daddy who surprised us both by setting up an egg hunt in our backyard Easter morning.
It was awesome

Max and Kendall Meet
Max had spent the night with Mimi and Poppy, but headed over first thing in the morning to meet his baby sister. We'd been telling him about the baby for what seemed like forever and the moment had finally arrived. Would he understand that the baby came out of mommy's belly?
We think he sort of understood. He kept pointing to her and saying "baby." He seemed interested in her. I can't wait to go home and see them interact on a daily basis. We are going to do everything possible to make sure they grow up loving each other unconditionally in hopes that they are brother and sister BFF's.

Our sweet baby girl has arrived!
We woke up this morning just like any other morning (besides being exactly 38 weeks preggo), got ready, and headed to the local deli for bagels. On the way there, I looked over at Mike and said "I'm pretty sure we are having a baby today so we should probably get the bagels to go." Good thing we got the bagels to go because by the time we got home I was having regularly consistent and powerful contractions. We called Max's mimi and she headed over to pick him up. We packed his over night back and sent him off with Mimi. Off to the hospital we went.
I was given an IV drip just to make sure the contractions weren't from dehydration. While the IV was going the contractions were getting significantly more intense so I knew this was IT...we were having a baby today.
A few minutes later the doctor came in and confirmed that I we were scheduled to have the c-section today at 5:30. It was around noon at this time. Unfortunately, I had a little bit of that bagel this morning so we had to wait for that to digest before they would do the surgery.
It was so much different this time. With Max it was a c-section surprise. This time, we hung out for a while, got into our surgery gear and then headed to the OR.
I walked inside, climbed on to the table, and looked around at all the instruments, big lights, nurses, etc. To be honest, it was a little scary. I was completely aware that I was about to be cut open and a baby would be pulled out. Not only was going to undergo major surgery, but I was about to become a mom of TWO! Could I handle it? Would she be healthy? Would I continue to be a good mom? Would I feel my legs again? Would she have hair and would it be red? Tons of things were racing through my mind and then all of a sudden I heard her cry.
It seemed like forever until they brought her over, but then there she was. Perfect and beautiful. Weighing in at 6.4 ounces and 18.5 inches long.

Gettin down
In the mornings before school actually starts Max spends time with Ms. Munoz. We've asked that she only speak Spanish to him. From time to time he says a few works in Spanish. It's pretty cute. It appears he also likes a little Spanish musica.
