Grill'n

Aunt Susie and Uncle Tony got Max this awesome grill set for his birthday.  I'm not sure if he likes the grill or the empty box more!

Gingerbread House

Max's preschool had a fun activity scheduled for today...building a gingerbread house.  Parents and grandparents were invited to attend.  Since I had to work Grandma Killi met Max at school and helped build his gingerbread house.  This was the second one they build because Max ate the first one :)

Today was Max's Christmas Program at Preschool.  He was all dressed up in the cutest outfit and ready to go.  Mike, Grandma Killi, and I went to the program.  Max did a great job participating until about half way through when he saw us.  Then he wanted mama, dada, and the iphone.  Overall it was super cute and we can't wait until March when he has the Easter program.

Half way through he starts doing the motions with the rest of the kids.

Our First Visit to the Zoo

As part of Max's birthday celebration, we decided to head out to the West Palm Beach Zoo.  It was Max's first time there and he seemed to like it.  He walked the entire time and looked at the animals.  It was a great time and we were super happy that my mom and Jerry could join us.

A Fun Day at the Farm

We woke early this morning and tried to beat the crowd at the farm.  The month of October they have had a pumpkin patch, bounce house area, and then random food stands.  It has really increased the number of people that are there each week.  Today they had a DJ so Max got to show off some of his dance moves and enjoy a lemonade.

It's been a while

since we went to the dog park.  It's been SO hot for what seems like FOREVER.  That is until Hurricane Sandy rolled through.  Thanks for coming by just to lower the temperatures and not causing us any real hurricane weather.

5K Weekend

Mike participated in a 5K run with his work this weekend.  We went back down the next morning as a family to watch the bike race and explore the other things that they had set up.  We even got a picture with a pirate!

A nice treat

We don't have treats much in our new healthy house, but today I was making a fruit dip for a work function and Max just loved it.  He automatically knew to eat off the mixer and the spoon.  I didn't even have to show him.  It's like it was part of his kid DNA.

Guess What...

Yep, that's Max imitating me throwing up.  Why am I throwing up?  Because I'm PREGNANT!!!!  Baby is just relaxing while mommy is feeling horrible :)

Lion Country Safari

We woke up this morning thinking what should we do on this wonderful Monday off?  Lion Country Safari? Let's give it a shot.  We are so happy we did because it was awesome.  The park starts off with a 10 mile drive thru safari.  The animals wander around as you drive around.  Afterwards we had lunch and then we headed to the walk around part of the safari.  It had cute little rides.  I was afraid Max wouldn't want to ride then, but we asked him and he shook his head yes so we gave it a try.

We started out with the calmest ride which went well.

We went into the petting zoo and Max was nice to the animals.

Mike got him a little closer to the birds then I liked but Max seems to like it.

My favorite picture of all is Max petting the camel.  Him and Mike have almost the same facial expression.

Carousel Ride.

Birds, turtles, and scary reptiles.

Max picked to ride in the dragon.

Swing Set Time

Max has been a little under the weather this week so I've stayed home from work to keep him company.  He's feeling a little better today so we headed outside for some fresh air and swing set time.  It had been a while since we had played on the swing set so I had to clear off the spider webs...apparently my doing so was hilarious.

Wisconsin Bound

This weekend we headed to Wisconsin for my good friend Betsey's bridal shower and bachelorette / bachelor party.  Max and I got to the airport early and Mike met us there after work.  Everything was going well until we hit security.  I had to take away Max's cheerios and he went crazy which led to him poking me in the eye.  It felt horrible, but I managed to blindly lead us through.  We met my mom in Chicago and then drove up to our hotel in Wisconsin.  The next morning we made an emergency stop at the eye doctor to find out that I had a torn cornea.

While I was cleaning up after the shower my mom, Max, and Mike found some horses in the back yard.

Since Mike does social marketing for White Castle now and we don't have them in Florida we had to stop so he could try it out.

On the way home, we bought a big bird in the airport which Max wanted to pay for.  Big bird helped make the trip home a little less eventful.

Mook & Max

Mook seems to have a never ending amount of patience when it comes to Max.  He deals with the hair pulling, the yelling, the ear tugging, etc.  Probably because Max feeds him cheeriors or parts of his dinner whenever he can.

The newest obsession is that Max MUST hold the lease AND the bag full of poo.  It's amazing how Mook has been pulling me around the neighborhood for years but when Max has the leash he walks super slow to make sure tha Max can keep up.  Some of our neighbors look at a us a little funny when they see Max walking around with the poo bag but it makes him happy so we let him do it.

He also gets Mook to set in his chair.  The bottom pic is him giving Mook a hug :)  So sweet.

Beach Day

There were some big events that occurred at today's beach day.

1.  Max wore super cool flip flops
2.  He wore his sunglass for a record time of about 30 seconds...just long enough to get a pic :)
3.  Most importantly - we actually got him to go into the water.  He was upset and cried at first but Mike came up with the idea of pretending that he was in the bath tub and that seemed to put him at ease.  He began to love the water which is great news since we'll be spending an entire week at the beach in Hilton Head in about a month.
