A Lot of First Times Occurred Tonight
Our friend Adam got promoted this week so everyone got together after work for a happy hour to celebrate. Mike & I both wanted to go, but didn't want to be the parents with the baby in the bar. We were able to get everyone to agree to sit outside so we got to be the parents just sitting out side enjoying the weather instead :) We stayed longer than expected so I had to give Max his 6 o'clock bottle while sitting outside. He typically freaks out a bit during the burping portion of the feeding so I was bit nervous. To my surprise, he was perfect. First feeding in public was a success.
Then we headed to the pizza place across the street for dinner. Max was due for a diaper change so together we conquered our first diaper change in public. Luckily it was just pee so it wasn't too bad. We'd never gone to dinner with him before, but he was a champ. He just slept the entire time.
Playing Can Be So Exhausting
Today, Max started playing with his teddy bear. He would smile when I had the teddy bear kiss him. When it was his turn to hold him, he continuously tried to keep the little bears nose. We were only about 15 minutes in and he passed out snuggled up with the bear.

sucking without the paci
Max dropped his paci, but he was still doing the sucking motion in his sleep.

Today was a big day
Today, Max and I woke up around 9. We got dressed and headed to my work. I introduced him to the people in the office and showed him where I would soon be instead of being with him :( We headed to bagel bagel for lunch with Barb and arrived back home around 1:30. Max had an afternoon snack at 2 and a quick nap. When he woke up we played with some of his toys and practiced sitting in the bumbo chair. He loves sitting up and looking around. The bumbo chair is a big hit.

2 month update
Today was Max's 2 month check up. Can you believe it's been 2 months?!?! We woke up bright and early for our 8:15 appointment. He started off very happy (as you can see from the pic of him in the car seat). We met with a new pediatrician today and really liked her. She helped us come up with a new formula to try in order to get past these constiption issues. She said that sometimes soy can constipate the baby so we are trying Emfamil Gentlease. So far so good :) We even had a little poo today! He was measured & weighed. Here are his stats:
Weight - 10 pounds 3.5 ounces - 40th percentile
Length - 23 inches - 50th percentile
Head - 39 centimeters - 30th percentile
After that doctor's exam, the nurse came back in and gave him 3 vaccination shots. He screamed louder than ever, but as soon as I picked him he calmed down.
2 months in to life and here's what the little man is up to these days:
*eating 5 oz every 4 hours
*enjoying bath time a lot more, but still hates when we take him out of the water and dry him off
*sleeps about 7 hours straight at night
*loves to be in the sitting up position so he can look around
*likes when we sing to him
*loves the paci
*"talks" to us
*smiles all the time
*can make eye contact and follow things with his eyes
*looks for us when we put him down and walk away
*moved up to size 1 diapers
*finally able to fit into 0-3 months clothes
Making Max is the best thing we have ever done. He has truely changed our lives. We cannot wait for each new adventure we get to experience with him.

Learning to Play
Max is learning to play. He's getting better at holding things in his hands. He's still working on learning how to control his arms but it's pretty cute to watch him try. The monkey he is playing with squeaks which really gets Mook excited. If he gets a chance I'm pretty sure he's going to destroy that poor little monkey.

Happy Birthday Daddy
Today was Mike's birthday. We started the day with coffee and opening presents. Mike did a little work while Max and I bundled up and heading to the grocery store to prepare for dinner. After a long day of preparation we enjoyed a great meal along with some dessert. Max was a happy baby all day. He must have known it was a special day.
